Ruth's House was blessed with four volunteer groups recently! The Affinity Plus Credit Union came out to play kick ball with the kids and donated tons of new board games and sports equipment on their Plus it Forward Day. Northfield Area Family YMCA Togetherhood put a fresh coat of paint in our dining and living rooms and donated new toys for the kids. Volunteers from Shattuck-St. Mary's All In for Hands Across Faribault came out and deep cleaned the kitchen & laundry rooms and weeded our playground area. Christ Lutheran Church devoted a morning to trimming branches, weeding and lawn maintenance at the shelter. We love and appreciate all of these wonderful volunteers!
The St. Olaf Women's Volleyball Team showed up at the shelter yesterday to deep clean our kitchen/laundry/dining and hallways. Super job! In return, they were treated to some card tricks, giggles, and hugs from our youngest residents. Thank you so much for your support!
Our August spotlight is on Sally Kramer. You can find Sally volunteering on Friday afternoons at the shelter as a front desk receptionist. She greets visitors, answers the door, and helps staff with office tasks, all with a friendly smile. We think she's the greatest! Thank you Sally.
Many thanks to the awesome group of 21 volunteers from Faribault Evangelical Free Church. They had a productive and fun service night at the Shelter helping with cleaning, weeding, putting up curtain rods, and painting, among other tasks. They did fantastic work and we are very appreciative. Thank you!!
